that "reportbot" is the good one? (Whether we be Christian or not, we have no respect for the wisdom of what Jesus expoused in his parables?)
This is a very serious question.
(do I really need to give clues on this one, do you really know who "reportbot" is? Do you know about ironic humor?

Whoops! (typo error) it should have read: Whether we are Christian or not, we have no respect for Jesus' wisdom if we cannot apply it to our daily lives.

Dear "Andrew" - I know, I think I know where you are coming from. It took me 63 years but I now only respect (follow) the exact words of Jesus in the Bible. I trust no other verses. I am sure I am missing something, but I feel fine and I am assured of my future.

dear "elm" - I suppose, and I have heard some of the Atheists on this chat group that knew the words of Jesus, it seemed more than Church Christians. Now, in regards to Paul, the Church Christians seem to quote him a lot. When I go to the words of Jesus, I feel the Holy Spirit. and not on any other verses in the Bible. - Following Paul will most likely get you to Heaven, Why? Cause, thankfulness and humility will eventually lead to harmony. Harmony, that is what Jesus taught.

Dear "zzz" - I will look at your link. But, like yourself (maybe), I trust Jesus. The original word for "trust" was to follow the advice and words of another person. The english translation of the Bible forgot to include "eis" and translated "trust" to "believe". John 3:16 originally meant "whosoever "trusts" him shall not perish ...."

Dear "MMM" - I know "reportbot" - he has never reported anyone. He just kids about it, to see how many people will report him and show that they do not really follow the advice of Jesus:
Jesus said, "If you do not forgive others, your father in Heaven will not forgive you". -- That is one of the clearest verses in the Bible.

Dear "zzz" - I read (scanned) the info on that link. -- like I said, I am suspicious of all verses except those exact quotes (and quadrupled checked) those words of Jesus, which prove themselves by our experiences in our lives.

PS to "Elm"- I have re-read your post. Please forgive me, I didn't get the gist at first. Yes, I agree it seems (at first glance) strange to ask an Atheist about something written in the Bible. But, just because they don't believe in the Bible or God or whatever, it does not mean they have not studied the scriptures. (I would imagine, we could think of another character in the Bible who knew the scriptures quite well.)

Parable of the two sons.
I kinda saw modern day agnostics and athiests as the good son. They're the ones that say No to God, yet do what is right anyways.

You have posed a perplexing question especially that "reportbot". Have absolutely no clue to what you are driving at. The only thing I can tell you is ironic humor aside, the truth will make you free. Simple. Truth is the wherewithall and bewithall for existence. Without truth there is nothing. Hey Uncle, you're on a roll! With you side-by side! Dialog is what these pages should be all about not diatribes!

people started to developed religion to explain what they could not understand. what makes Christianity better or different than any other religion that has existed. i bet that if you went back in time and told the Greeks that there was no Zeus or Poseidon they would think you were crazy. All religions will eventually come to an end. i would just think that by now as smart as we are that religion would be extinct. science is the only. people just cant come to terms that there is no after life.
