Everyone looks to the heavens or in books. God is within each of us...heaven is within us. Look there. Pray, meditate, and yes you can be a part of a religion here in the physical world as a community. I think we should do both the community gatherings as well as personal reflection. Good luck.
Peace, Love, and Blessings

Christianity believes that God has searched for us, found us, rescued us, and wants us to live with Him (or Her) forever.
God can be found:
+ In every human being who was made in His image
+ In every believer as part of the Body of Christ
+ In my heart, mind, and soul
+ In His creation, the universe, nature, animals, plants, and the back yard
+ In His revealed Word, the Holy Scriptures
+ In the Sacraments of the Church
+ Anywhere and everywhere
Where can I hide from your spirit?
From your presence, where can I flee?
If I ascend to the heavens, you are there;
if I lie down in Sheol, you are there too.
If I fly with the wings of dawn
and alight beyond the sea,
Even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand hold me fast.
(Psalm 139:7-10)
With love in Christ.

I search my God's heart from my heart through talking to Him and listening for his reply. And no, I do not hear his booming voice speaking to me from the clouds. Thought I would add that so as not to give others a reason to heckle.

God is everything, he is within you, he is in that quiet field, he is in the church, withing the air you breathe, meditate and open yourself up to him, he is there already, and always has been, you just need to let him in!
