As an atheist who was raised in Christianity, yeah, I understand both. I really wish some of you Christians would quit acting like you have it all figured out. I don't care if you ARE right, we don't want to hear about it in those haughty tones. For example, the dimwit who replied to this question that atheists always cry out to God on their deathbeds: you're wrong. Read history.

mutually as i won't be able to believe a blanket assertion that maximum atheists understand greater approximately Christianity than Christians, i'd agree that some (or many) Christians have self belief by ability of religion on my own, and may be able to no longer see the non secular texts in an impartial view. From very own adventure, evidently some Christians are afraid that non secular learn of multiple religions ought to alter or shake their faith--so they keep away from it. they could additionally keep away from demanding circumstances to their ideals by ability of claiming that their presuppositions of the Bible negate any historic information that would adjust the actuality and reality of the texts. i think of this is extremely significant to be nicely study and knowledgeable on the historical past and historical past of Christianity. If human beings won't be able to cope with the actuality of the Bible (as an occasion, pseudoepigraphical texts) then they might ought to re-evaluate their faith in the 1st place.

My understanding of an Atheists is that they are individuals who choose the right to not believe in something that there is no proof of.

All that there is for them is a book written and altered by man telling them that they should believe this or be condemned.

I admire their strength in holding fast to their beliefs just as I admire the strength in those of us who hold onto ours.

A Christian.
