Look for the man who acts honorably, with ethics, with integrity. Look for a man who looks you in the eye without the need to contest. Look for a man who looks like he isn't cautious about bumping into anything; when he bumps, it's deliberate and deadly.
Look for the man that is a whole lot braver than I ever have been, and will be shown to my daughter and students as an example of one of my heroes.

Pretty easy if you know what your looking for. Though it's hard to tell them from other branches especially from ab soldiers. People close to the military can tell by their speech, their physiqe, there attitude and the way they hold liqour. So of us just have the talent and experience to "know" a marine.
One dead giveaway in a parking lot of cars is the vehical that looks like the USMC took a dump on it. Holy crap are they proud of their branch of service and plaster it on EVERYTHING. Nothing wrong with that, nothing at all wrong with it, but at 50 bumber stickers it does seem to be a little tacky. Course what the heck do they care, go say something to them about it, they'll just look at u, like "mkay", spit dip by your shoes and walk on. They are a different breed, but I am damn proud to have them fighting for us. They are and will always be utmost professionals.

Well at the gym I used to work out at, I could always tell a marine by the way they counted. If they use words like eleventeen, I knew it's a marine. Seriously now, military men in general stand out, and other than any obvious tell tale signs such as a USMC logo tattoo, you can't guess right each time. I was mistaken as one once, but I counted to 10 and that made him change his mind.

Look for someone unassuming, with a determination in their eye, someone you would want by your side when the world turns to s h i t, and someone you would not want to see if you seek to take the freedom from Americans.

I don't know, they just sort of look like

When you are out there on your own, someone you want on your side.
