Today is the first time I've been back to Y!A in about 9 months, so I suppose I didn't specifically leave R&S, but I did leave. I left because I was tired of wading through stupid questions to get to the few good ones, and because I found myself wanting to just give snarky answers to snarky questions rather than actually try to answer something in a way that might be helpful to someone. Plus, real life got busy *shrugs*
I suspect most people leave for similar reasons or just because they get bored.

Yes, once I deleted my account, which was up to level 6, and I was even on the Top 10 answerers in the Society and Culture section. I felt it was necessary to delete my account, because I had given too much information to someone who I had reason to become afraid of. I decided to leave and not create a new account, but then I just couldn't stay away. So I created a new account. Man, I could have had so many more points if I didn't have to start all over again!

I left for a week.
I played a bit on Polls & surveys during that week but avoided THIS place like the plague.
The outrageous and unmittigated attacks on the original Laptop Jesus, pangel, and others was the reason I left.
I came back because of private email conversations.

Yea. I left for about two months because I started a new job and it was taking up every minute of my time and what time I did have left was devoted to school and then family and friends. Not a lot of time left for answering dumb questions on the internet :)

I left for a couple of weeks cause I got bored with all of the mostly Christian related questions and the trolls. I found no amusement here. I'm back cause I'm in the mood to hang out here again. It comes and goes!

Yes, because some guy was stalking me who didn't like my answers. He would go to every question I answered and leave really hateful things. Eventually I couldn't handle it so I left until he died down. Then I came back, and he found me again...then I left, and repeated the process twice more, until he got deleted.

I never leave because that would be letting the report monkeys win. They're the reason that too many good ones (and one great one) left.
