Pointing the dish can be very tricky. You should get starting directions (based on your location) from the satellite company. Then you will need to adjust the dish for maximum signal. If you still have trouble, contact the satellite company and request an installation.

First off, you have to make sure your elevation angles on the dish are all set up & you have an idea of which direction your dish should be pointing. Stand behind the dish & make sure there are no trees , buildings or any other obstructions in the way. Go to your menus & set it up for "DISH INSTALLATION" or "POINTING YOUR DISH" so you have your red or green bar indicating signal strength. 0 on this bar indicates an open wire or something not connected. If you have a low reading then you will start moving your dish east to west or up & down, while watching your signal strength. GO SLOW. As your reading goes up try adjusting both to obtain the highest reading.Make sure your mount is set up level.(would help to know what kind of system).
Good Luck!

Turn the dish towards the satellite you want to get the signals from.
Set the satellite details and transponder details on the decoder.
Search the transponder(s) for channels.
Should work now. Enjoy!
