Bad impressions...... meaning, at one time she cheated on her boyfriend with him, didn't respect herself much, was very clingy and immature.... acted dumb when he knew she was smart.... (all while she was 18 and he was 21)

Would he notice if she had grown up and learned how to be happy and respect herself....or would he always see her as the same, sad girl? If he had respect for her, but then lost it because SHE didn't even respect HERSELF.... could he ever gain it back again?

What do you think? Its been a year....we've stayed in touch, but mostly around the time when I was still pretty unhappy. Recently, we've had some small talk and he's made subtle comments about how I seem more confident and happy... But I think hes still having trouble taking me seriously again.

What do you think....?
Will he always have that impression of me in the back of his mind? Would he be able to gain respect for me again?

Would it be best if I just stayed away from him for a while?

Do men keep lasting impressions of women from their past!? Of course they do. But it really depends on th woman and the relationship. Was it a respectfull, loving, caring, relationship, or just a seductive, lustfull, sexual relationship? There are many things in every relationship that will leave a lasting impression on a person, be it male or female. As for the rest of your question; if he has "noticed a change in you" and seems to be sincere when he tells you that, I think he may be trying to "feel you out" to see just how much has changed. He is obviously interested and is possibly waiting for some kind of feedback from you. I would say, if the feeling seems right to you then.....go for it. There was something there once; maybe the fire is still flickering and just needs a little more fuel to get it going. Good Luck.

I've never witnessed a guy willingly reminiscing about girls from the past.

Why do you care about what he thinks anyways? Isn't this pulling you back to being clingy and immature? What is your motivation for wanting to convince him that you're confident? Do you want him back?

He will always have this impression of you if you are focused on "what does he think" verses finding what makes you happy. Find what makes you happy, live, and if he fits in then take him in ... if he doesn't fit into what makes you happy then search for someone who will enhance (not complete) your happiness.

The more he gets to know the ..New and Improved You (for the better), that image will fade* It is tho a memory you both can always 'joke' back to as your 'inside joke'-meaning..how childish you were when you were younger..and how much you've grown as a person since then~ You show him you're a better person now and the respect will follow* Once he realizes this isn't a game*...but a fact..that you've grown up since then~ GoodLuck*

i think of which you're being somewhat small-minded & offensive. First, you need to honestly no longer generalize the total woman gender by some women human beings's movements. 2nd, once you call women human beings "whores", idiots" and "fools" you're giving men permission to do the comparable. 0.33, that's 2016 and a woman has each and every right to act as she chooses, however if that's dressing in a vogue which you do no longer consider, or ingesting in a bar, or wearing makeup. you need to thank your fortunate stars you reside in a unfastened u . s . the place women human beings have that right, by fact with it comes the superb to vote, power, & p.c. a much better half. finally, what you're describing is indicative of a lots greater effective difficulty in our subculture, it rather is youthful women human beings and men are continuously bombarded the message that intercourse and visual charm are prized specifically else- looks organic that youthful, malleable anybody is vulnerable to paying for into that theory whilst the media promotes all of it day. you need to help & inspire different women human beings fairly of shaming & insulting them.

It will always be in the back of his mind even if he brings himself to start a relationship with you. Many people believe you can't change. That just means you have to work even harder at this potential relationship.

It's not a men or a women thing. Don't be so sexist.

How would you feel if somebody was a total jerk to you a year ago, and sucked at life? Would you think they changed?
