I have a recipe that call for 5 3/4 ounces of flour, but I don't have a way to mesure weight. How do I convert them to spoons or cups?

1 Tbs. = 1/2 oz
2 Tbs. = 1 oz.
1 cup = 8 oz

Being a right brained person, I'm scared to try the math. But I checked my conversion charts so armed with this a calculator you should be able to figure it out;


1 teaspoon = 1/6 ounce
1 tablespoon = 0.5 ounce
2 tablespoons = 1 ounce

And here is another chart I had bookmarked with some other figures that might help. Just hope you are better at math than me lolol!

16 tablespoons = 1 cup.. 1 tablespoons is an ounce.. 16 oz= 1 cup
5 0z then = how many tablespoons( 5)
3/4 oz = 3/4 of a tablespoon

8 ounces = 1 cup

For future reference, most standard cookbooks have conversions charts in them. I recommend buying a basic cookbook, if you don't already have one, such as Betty Crocker's, Joy of Cooking, or Better Homes; they are well worth the money.

I score the outside of the package with a table knife open the package and cut the cream cheese. Actually I score the entire package a one time cut it into chunks and wrap separately so I have some for baking and some to have on bagels
