Personally I would say Kurt Vonnegut, only because Kurt is actually a real person. Jesus cannot be proved historically to have actually existed, and I suspect, just like Superman and most of what is written about him is fiction.

Jesus is way more interesting...he preexisted this world and everyone on it. We have only begun to understand his importance to us in this universe...the little time he was on our planet with us as one of us, yet above each of us with his humble and kind ways. What did Kurt Vonnegut do anyway? I have not heard of him until this post...and I have 2 degrees from well established institutions. Sorry...Jesus Christ, Yeshua bar Yoseph, Messiah wins hands down. No one can top Him.

Well - I read a LOT of Kurt Vonnegut's stuff. And although Jesus didn't write the bible - he is in it a lot.
Hmmmmm.
Kurt Vonnegut's books were banned from my high school library back in the 70's. I went to the public library and checked out a bunch of his books and carried them around the high school with me. I never read them though. Well - not until the 80's - and then I read almost everything he'd written up to that point.
They never banned the Bible from my high school. And I didn't read most of it in the 80's.
So - I guess - in my opinion - Vonnegut wins.
But Jesus is cool.

Kurt Vonnegut was a brilliant writer. I'm a fan of his work. But unlike Jesus, he didn't die for anyone's sins.
