I need to know if I can put baking soda in peach cobbler, or not, how can I substitute baking soda for baking powder

You can make baking powder by mixing two parts cream of tartar and one part baking soda. If you don't have cream of tartar, you should probably use a different recipe or make a run to the store for some real baking powder.

If you use self rising rising flour- it will turn out ok without adding baking powder, baking soda or salt. Technically you SHOULD use the baking powder in those recipies--but cobbler will turn out just as good without it.( with the self rising flour)

You only can put baking soda at the batter part.You should use baking soda instead of baking powder
