My 8 yr old daughter has a swelling at the back of the hand, near the base of the fingers between the bones. It is more like a fluid build up.It appears like that. It could be an insect bite.It is not itching but she complained of pain before it swelled.
Is there any over the counter medicaation I can apply until i see a doctor tomorrow.?
Thanks.
April

Take her to the doctor. She may have an injury. If it's not itching than it might not be an insect bite.

you might want to try benadryl for kids she might have had a allergic reaction to something. watch for her breathing and keep a eye on it . if it bothers you too much take her to the hospital. good luck

give her benadyl by mouth
and apply benadryl cream to her hand
if it's just a bug bite/etc. it will be better in the morning
