If a person has a dirty nest it's okay to point a finger at them as long as your's is clean.

I agree that Imus should have been fired. These two dunces are about to get their clocks cleaned.

Apparently, the only people that can refer to blacks as 'nappy haired ho's" are blacks.
Just check out any rap video.
The people who are the most offensive and exploitative of blacks, are blacks.
At my company, many of my co-workers are black. And they all come to work, every day, do there job and act in a dignified and professional manner. I do not understand why people get so upset over an idiots comments. I and my co-workers have learned a long time ago, "sitcks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me".
At other times in life, I have been called whitey, cracker, the man, etc, and you know what? I look at the source, name calling just exposes the guilty party as ignorant and insecure. I could care less about Don Imus, for all we know, he was paid to say those stupid words. Why? Because racial, religious, gender, and other so called serious problems really serve to accomplish one thing. Create divisions and foment hatred.
The purpose? To divide the working classes, so that the rich can fleece us ever more while they raise taxes, jack up consumer prices, and further distance themselves from our plight. They do this to create the contentions among us in a way that they can do so and blame us for our suffering.

Oh, and by the way, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson never seem to be upset when black people exploit, and murder each other. So I could surmise that they are for black on black crimes, right?

Yes.

In criticizing the comment by Imus, which was obviously intended as a spoof of the 'rap-talk', they've pretty much cast the limelight on the language of rappers, which makes the comment that Imus made seem very tame in comparison.

With all the anti-semitism out of Sharpton in the past, I just can't take his schtick seriously. It is too bad he "represents" minorities. He shouldn't represent anyone other than his cheap opportunistic self. Sharpton has been calling himself a reverend since the sixth grade and Rev. Jackson can't keep his pants on even when he is married.

Imus is no concern to me. I'm not defending him ... or his hair.

My father would have been disgusted that a man would talk that way about women. However, if someone talked that way about my father's wife, daughters, mother etc., it would go against his ethical beliefs to try and get him fired. However being the Christian gentleman that he was my little Irish daddy would have put Don Imus on his backside.

Imus overstepped his boundaries. Sharpton and Jackson are show boating assclowns. Did they apologize to the Duke Lacrosse players?

What Imus said was callous and stupid but......

I don't think he should have been fired. He apologized over and over and over again and if the basketball team is so fragile that an apology isn't enough then God help all women.

Does someone lose their job now everytime someone gets their feelings hurt??

And yes, Sharpton and Jackson are hypocrites. They have also said callous and stupid things, too, but I don't think they should be fired.

I think everyone is getting a little too "thin skinned" these days. Remember sticks and stones......

Their lives have been dedicated to driving a wedge between the whites and the blacks. Mr. Imus was put in a position of shock-jock so why are we surprised that he lived up to his reputation. We make peace with each other by asking for forgiveness, and by the other party forgiving.

For all those who have posted that they don't think Imus should have been fired, suppose a Arab, Chinese, or African American who had a national radio show said something completely foul and racist about your nationality? If the tables were turned and someone like Oprah Winfrey was to come out and say something so derogatory about white people as a joke and thinking nothing of it, every white person in America would call for an end to her show. My opinion is that they wouldn't even have to make much noise. She'd probably be out of there before the show went to commercial. Quite different from what happened to Imus. I think he got what he deserved. That man has been saying racist, sexist, evil, and demeaning things about whites, blacks, and every other nationlality religion, gender and age group since he's been on the air. His mouth ought be shut up and shut out!!

Their nests weren't too clean my friend. Jessie Jackson was notorious for calling New York Heimy Town. No one is beyond it. I agree though that Imus should have been fired as what he said was just too offensive to stand without serious repercussions.

Everything will die down soon.
What did Imus do? He hurt a basketball team's feelings and he got fired. What is this world coming to?
