Dogs are prone to all the mental and emotional problems and illnesses that Human Beings suffer from...... They are the closest to being a human as any other animal on the Planet............

I had a "mentally challenged" cat. He would dig a hole in the middle of the litter box, then back up over the edge and poop, then go back and fill in the hole. Plus he drooled like a river when you would pet him. Sweetest thing though, just simple.

Yes, try being any animal tethered to a post for days or weeks.

Absolutely! They even make anti-psychotics and anti-depressants for animals. I'm SURE you've seen neurotic dogs before, or seen birds who pull out all of their feathers. It happens. Where there's brain...there's the possibility of brain malfunction.

As a matter of fact...just today my cat was went to the vet because he is constantly pulling out his hair...for years they have treated him for skin allergies..they decided today he has a compulsive obsessive disorder and put him on 5mg of Prozac daily...

if they've ever been abused, i suppose that that is a form of mental illness, because they've been traumatized. or they can go through separation anxiety.

They pick up on and mimic the behavior of their owners...

They are almost never neurotic or ill on their own.

Seperation anxiety.. is the first one that comes to mind.
I am sure they have many. Oddly, that is what makes them so good for us. They appreciate us appreciating them. Coexistence.

if dumb humans abuse them... all they ask is love and always love you but they also live on faith and training and care that of a human.. but sometimes they are just overly interbreed or abused neglected just love them they do sense evil and in turn seem and or psycho
