Now I understand why that you cannot believe everything you read on the Internet! Everybody and his dog is an expert doling out wildly inaccurate garbage! spiritcardreadings and mzfatbooty65 should be ashamed of themselves. If you don't know better, shut up!

An 8-ounce cup of homemade cocoa contains 5 milligrams of caffeine, according to the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference. Public health officials from Australia report hot chocolate caffeine content can range from 10 to 70 milligrams per cup. Clearly there is variation in the caffeine content of hot chocolate as well as with coffee.

It has caffeine, but chocolate contains very little. There is more caffeine in a cup of decaffinated coffee than in your average chocolate bar. So you should maybe double check with your doctor if trace amounts are harmful, or if it's just full doses.

A cup of hot chocolate has around 4mg of caffeine, as compared to a cup of coffee which has 75mg, and a can of pop which has around 35mg. I wouldn't worry too much about those 4mg. Decaf coffee has around 2-4mg of caffeine.
