Wielding Absolute Power corrupts absolutely

Yes it is. Without casting people into a burning lake, there would be no punishment for our sinly ways. That means that there is also no reward (Heaven). So that would basically mean that people can get away with anything, with no punishment at all. People would then forget all about morals, and live a life focused entirely on earthly things.

History tells us that Caesar thought he was God. Herod thought he was a god and even went to the extent of killing babies to make sure that God wasn't born.

Neither Caesar nor Herod were God, because God is the Potter and we are the clay. Does the clay have a right to say to the Potter don't drown me (crush me) and start over? Does the clay have a right to ask the Potter don't put me in the furnace?

You forget God is the Creator and He could have decided just not to make you. SO THE ANSWER IS - - - Y E S

God is the Authority.

It's not acceptable for me to shoot someone. But in my human development class, one of my classmates is a police officer and told about having to kill a drug dealer who shot my classmate's partner in the face. That is moral.

The government can hold people against their will in jail. That's moral. If I lock someone up in my basement against their will, that's not moral.

When people behave within the law, the law protects them. When they behave outside the law, the law punishes them.

I realize that in unjust societies, that is not the case, but my point is that if in a moral society we accept that some authority (though not above the law) can take measures a normal citizen cannot legally take, why can we not extend that understanding to God?

God is perfect in all His way's. He is the very source of love, peace, and joy but He is also perfectly righteous and just. He is the ultimate judge! People forget that and only want Him to love them and provide for them and He does. However, He like the city you live in, has a law. When it is broken justice must take place. Unless you have a get out of "hell" free card in Jesus Christ (accepting Him as Lord and Savior and repenting of all sin) then you can expect God's judgments to be as He has said they would. How arrogant of mankind to think that only we can make laws and make whole societies subject to them but God Almighty cannot. Mankind didn't create mankind! God did! And He can do whatever He sees fit and righteous with His creation anytime He chooses!

How about this as HE is My GOD!

(Isaiah 55:6-to-11) Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

(Isa 55:7) Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

(Isa 55:8) For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

(Isa 55:9) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

(Isa 55:10) For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

(Isa 55:11) So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

AND the Lake of FIRE..... Because YOU rejected HIS Love...

(Hebrews 10:28-to-32) He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

(Heb 10:29) Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

(Heb 10:30) For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

(Heb 10:31) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

********* Sorry about Your 'god!' ***********

Thanks, RR

no one but god could do all those things so that's not something you should worry about. Do you know any people who can create floods that drown the earth?

Flooding the entire planet just because the humans "sinners" are enjoying the free will.

Yes. God is incapable of being wrong, immoral, or unjust.

Every one of us deserves death. So, the fact that any of us are saved is grace from God because of his love for us. None of us merit salvation.
