Is Pope Benedict XVI the Antichrist?

John Paul II said himself that one of the popes will eother aid or bbe the Antichrist, and many Biblical findings say that John Paul II was one of the last human popes before the Antichrist comes, but not necessarily the last.

read through for more detailed information. to answer your question no he is not the anti christ and no pope will be. revelations is a symbolic writing and relates to the destruction of the temple in 70a.d by emperor nero whose name amounts to 666 in hebrew. the anti christ can amount to anything you place above jesus,such as money etc.........or by denouncing the name of jesus.

The Antichrist is not one particular person as some believe. The Bible gives a satisfying answer. “Antichrist” means “ against (or instead of) Christ. (1 John 2:22: “This is the antichrist, the one that denies the Father and the Son.”)

The Bible tell us that the antichrist “is already in the world.”

1 John 4:3: “Every inspired expression that does not confess Jesus does not originate with God. Furthermore, this is the antichrist’s inspired expression which you have heard was coming, and NOW IT IS ALREADY IN THE WORLD.” (That was written near the end of the first century C.E.)

If any Pope (or anyone at all) ever denies that Jesus is God, and the only begotten Son of God the Father, then he could rightly be called antichrist.

No Pope has ever made such a proclamation, and I personally doubt that ANY Pope ever will, or ever could.

No, I don't think it is Pope Benedict. He is true to the teachings of the church. I think that if any Pope were to be the anti-christ or help the anti-christ...it will be one that is liberal and brings the church down to nothing more then humanism. One that will turn the church away from the truth. That would help the anti-christ a great deal.
