$15
I have to add that she isn't that expensive ($75 for it all) and she does a hollywood job of it, very professional- very beautiful.
Reasons to tip your hairstylist:
1. they are charged a % of the store's mortagage to keep their styling station, and they are charged a % for each appointment.
2. they live on the rest.
3. You wear your hair everyday, people spend more on a single outfit they only wear once a week.
4. You can have a haircut that is cheap, but the skill will be cheap too.
5. You don't need a hair cut every week or even every two weeks...and you don't even have to get it colored every month. Divide what you spend on a good haircut by the days it takes you until you get another one. It's really just a few bucks a day to look kept up.

Hairdressers work on a variety of options:
1) salary - hourly + tips... typically min wage or a few more dollars.
2) salary + commission - min wage plus typically 20% of the sale
3) commisson only - typically 40-60%
4) rental - this is where they pay anywhere from $300-800 a month for their station and keep all their pay.
Typical tip out would be about 20% You have to remember - not only are you paying them for their time but in the case of commission and rental typically THEY (not the salon) pay for all their product - color, shampoo, styling products...
Tip what you want - its up to you. Tip on how much you liked the service and hairstylist. There is no mandatory tip out.
Me personally - full highlight and cut = $150 and I give her $200 but then again Ive always been a great tipper because Ive always worked in an industry where I live off tips.

I think the norm would be 20% of the total. Thats if she did a good job. My hair lady is great and she charges me $75.00 so I usually give her $95.00. I have very long hair and it takes about 2 & 1/2 hours. You are suppose to tip your hairstylist unless its the owner. Ahh the price of beauty.....

15% if she's just trimming my bangs ; about 20% for cut and or coloring. If she does a good job, then I tip 25%- as somebody above me said, I wear my hair everyday, so it's well worth it. Plus, a friend of mine worked in hair place when we were in college- she made less than a waitress, so I always make sure to tip at least 15%

hi, For some places it really is person-pleasant for hairstylists to value to dry your hair. in a lot of circumstances it really is in the adventure that they type it in a roundabout way. when I had an undesirable lady who did mine, and had to value me in basic terms to customary previous dry it with a blow dryer (no type) contained in the technique January (I stay in Canada!) I instructed her to easily provide me the dryer and that i ought to do it myself and characteristic in no way lengthy gone decrease back there because that. speaking from a business organization attitude, they truly should not be charging you for that. you're a dependable customer and if the business organization extremely appreciates your corporation organization, then the least they could do is dry and attraction your hair for free. next time you're there you ought to ask them. tell them you convey them truly some business organization and also you imagine it will be protected. in the adventure that they placed up a strive against, then perhaps you ought to search for a sparkling stylist, as they obviously haven't got fun with you as a valued customer. desire this helps! :)
