The parts that are parables and illustrations are to be taken as parables and illustrations.
The parts that are poetry and music are to be taken as poetry and music.
All of the parts contain "truth", are are to be taken as such.

That's a guy's theory. Stewart does a good job of keeping an open mind while entertaining his audience.
Yes, I do believe we should take the bible literally in it's context. The dead sea scrolls confirmed the accuracy of the old testament and I'll bet God kept the same watch over the interpretation of the New Testament as well.

Don't need to check out the link.....the Bible is full of parables and symbolic stories....some parts are not to be taken literally, but it is a good roadmap to living a loving life.
