The word "vegetables" had not been coined yet in 1611, so it will not find it in the King James translation. Instead the older words "green herbs" are used. You will find vegetables in newer translation made after the word was created.

It all depends on how you translate things.

1. Deuteronomy 11:10
The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden.

2. 1 Kings 21:2
Ahab said to Naboth, "Let me have your vineyard to use for a vegetable garden, since it is close to my palace. In exchange I will give you a better vineyard or, if you prefer, I will pay you whatever it is worth."
1 Kings 21:1-3 (in Context) 1 Kings 21 (Whole Chapter)
3. Proverbs 15:17
Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred.
Proverbs 15:16-18 (in Context) Proverbs 15 (Whole Chapter)
4. Daniel 1:12
"Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink.
Daniel 1:11-13 (in Context) Daniel 1 (Whole Chapter)
5. Daniel 1:16
So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead.
Daniel 1:15-17 (in Context) Daniel 1 (Whole Chapter)
6. Romans 14:2
One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.

Severe mental retardation was not an adopted phrase in psychology until 1584 years after the Bible was compiled.

Vegetable is a relatively modern slang term for imbecile or permanantly comatose patient, and was unknown by the writers of sacred writ.

Look, Dinosaurs were not on the earth, what, 6,000 years ago. They were not killed by the flood, nor were they on the ark. They did not roam with "Adam & Eve". They lived millions of years ago. K?

Nope.

I wonder why God created Man in His own image, but neglected to mention that He'd previously done the same for Chimpanzee.

You see, centuries ago, when the Earth was flat, it really wasn't deep enough to firmly plant any vegetables, they would just fall off through the bottom into Hell (or whatever was down there - I can't remember the details)

The bible was not written in English. So, technically, none of our words are there.
