What is the most moisturizing soap? Hemp? Shea? Cocoa butter? Or something else?

Hemp Soap is great because it has lots of essential fatty acids which I've read are able to penetrate the skin cell wall and repair damaged cells. But check out the hemp oil content in each bar. It varies dramatically. Small batch, handmade soap usually has more and better hemp oil than hemp soap from larger branded companies. The Body Shop carries a good line of hemp shampoo and conditioner. We also carry a large selection of hemp oil soap made with about 30% hemp oil. I"m not sure about shea or coca butter soap.

Any handmade soap is more conditioning than the store bought 'detergents' due to the natural glycerine in the bars--commercial soaps extract the glycerine and sell it back to you in lotions. Hemp is a very conditioning oil, but an ealier poster is correct in that recipies vary so just because the bar contains a certain oil--doesn't mean it will be conditioning--especially if it contains a lot of coconut or palm kernel oil--which many find drying. I had a dry patch of skin on my leg for the longest time--I used lotions religiously--when I switched to hand made soap--it disappeared in a couple of weeks--and I use less lotion as well!

The most moisturizing I've ever found is a specialty soap made with olive oil. I thought it wouldn't lather well but it does. You can order it on line but I forgot the company. It comes in different fragrances too.
