Before becoming a 'born again believer', I thought it highly unlikely that we would be the only life in the universe. I used to find the idea that there might be other worlds and beings out there, fascinating.

Now that I have a little insight as to the awesomeness of God and a better understanding of the uniqueness of God's creation, I am prepared to concede that we may well be the only intelligent life of our kind in the universe.

That is one heavy thought worth dwelling on.

Since the universe is so large I'd be very surprised if there isn't live someplace else, intelligent or not. When I think about it I find it totally amazing that God would be concerned about something as small as a person on this planet in this vast universe. And yet, He knows us all individually and loves us. Wow.

I belong to no religion, but I do believe that there's got to be some other types of life forms out there, I mean what a waste of an universe it would be if there was nothing else.

Of course there are. Why would people think that we are so special, unique and that we are the only ones who can be intelligent? If life evolved in our beautiful blue planet, why not elsewhere? I'm Roman Catholic.

Given the vastness of the universe it is very likely that intelligent life exists elsewhere. However, we had better hope that they never discover us. Because they would most likely destroy us.

No religion, and yes I'm open to the idea, I am not aware of any argument or evidence that would rule it out, but equally there is no valid reason to believe it either.

Hello lnfrared… :)

Yes, I do believe that there could be life other than ours, in this vast universe..

Jesus did say:

John 10

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

16 And "OTHER SHEEP I HAVE", which are "NOT OF THIS FOLD": them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Christian..

I disagree with Giovanni, as I believe in God and believe everything is of God, Than other lifeforms, whatever they may be would likely be intelligent, they probably also have a belief system, and who is to say it is not very similar to our own?

I do not believe that there is. Maybe the bible didn't mention it because it doesn't exist.
