eating protein is not supposed to make you fat. that's the principle behind the atkins diet. supposedly, the body can't store the energy released when you eat proteins. if you don't use this energy, it just...gets disposed of (?).. instead of being stored in your body as fat.

NO NO NO!!!!its not the protein that will make you fat it is the carbs.try to stay away from the rice unless it is brown rice or wild rice.no nutrional value in it ,and it makes you full but your hungry a few hours later.you know the rest of the answers, fast food high in calories, junk food ,chips candy should be very limited .best to avoid all together.if you devide your plate in halfand the other half divide again, half of your calories should come from vegetables and fruits,1 third protein,1 third carbsbut since you are exercising that is the smartest thing to do. and do not eat 3 hours before bed time that goes straight to the belly and booty.

Yes, it has calories and all things being equal, eating additional protien will cause you to gain weight. If you substitute carbs with protien, like switching from rice to another piece of chicken,(assuming they have the same calorie value) it may be a better choice for losing weight, if you subscribe to the atkins diet, and only if you are already eating a low calorie diet. If you are eating a high calorie diet, calories are calories, no matter what the source (except calories from fat is always worse)

The Adkins diet has been proved very effective. This is based on high protein and low carbs. Skip the rice and the rest is good.. Oh drink lots of water too.
