A good lover, is a good lover, regardless of the century they were in.
It's how a man treats a woman, how he relates to her, says what she wants to hear, from her lover.
He makes her feel as is she is the only woman in the world for him.
He is there for her, tells her how lovely she is, and how much he admires her.
He may be lying to her, but it's what she wants to hear, and will make her feel good.
Men and women, and their relationship to each other, haven't changed over the milleniums.
So those two men, would still be considered good lovers today.

Honey, Love is the most misused, overused, and abused word in the English language (and probably some other languages). I don't worry about fictional characters, but plenty of people in this word DO find love, in spite of the abuse and low meaning so many place on the word.
