Even if elegible for other deductions, like under India Tax Treaty, it's not needed to go through all that since you'll get a full refund of taxes paid anyways..correct?

Basically, correct. If you're single, not a dependent, and your income wasn't from self-employment, you can make $8450 before you have to file - you get your $3300 exemption, and also a $5150 "standard deduction". But if you had anything withheld for federal income tax, you can file to get it refunded - if you don't file, you don't get a refund.

Yes, claim them. You could get a refund. I'm sure you can use an extra egg in the nest. We all could.

Claim them all, you may be able to get more money back.. any credits you get beyond your deductions only add to your refund.
