The bombing is only proof that it is impossible to stop all acts of terrorism when there are terrorists willing to kill themselves and others.
The latest news on this bomber is that he was a bodyguard to one of the Member of the Iraqi Parliament. It shows only that you cannot trust anyone in Iraq.

No. And actually there were two suicide bombings on 14 Oct 2004. It is suspected that they were Jordanian though. One was at the Haiji Mart and the other at the Lone Star Cafe. These were popular military places to go and shop. About a month after that there was a 2,400 lb bomb that a suicide bomber drove and blew up at the gate near the Al Rasheed Hotel. About two months after that one, a mortar penetrated the embassy building killing 3 civilian/military persons. So there have been other suicide bombings and attacks. In fact, during Ramadan there are attacks every night. Mortars mostly, because suicide bombings need to be planned months in advance. Clearance is hard to get to get into the Green Zone. And then to pick a location to bomb. Most people who work in the Green Zone like the Americans and Military so they wouldn't do anything to hurt them.

Pieces of the bomb could have been smuggled in for days. My commander spent a year in the sand box in a 'safe office.' They had Iraqis working there. A bomb sniffing dog found parts of a bomb in the office. One of the workers was smuggling in parts each day. Boss said that a couple of more days and there would have been a complete bomb, enough to level the building. NO PLACE is safe in Iraq.

This bombing is just a snother small event in a very long and hard war. It does not define the overall progress. You would need to ask someone there like the Iraqi people and the military, unless you are a liberal, then you already know everything and don't need any facts.

Not certain Sir, but I do have one question

do you support cowards such as Steve C http://answers.yahoo.com/my/my;_ylt=Ag5E9mCfcntJPuq2KjZnXZTty6IX
who belittle the lives of our comrades in arms?

I would hope after 13 years of service while you may have lost faith in politics, you have not lost faith in our men.
