I asked him out and he said that he just broke up with his girlfriend and he needed some time. 4 days later another girl asked him out and he said yes! i reallly like him, and i think he likes me too. Everyone says i'm prettier than her and i truly am. not that she's ugly or anything like that. Whats making him do this to me?

Pretty isn't everything. Maybe he's just not as attracted to you as he is to her.

Why does the title say that you've gone out with him 8 times & then you said when you asked him that he told you no, but went out with the other girl.

Anyway, let me tell you something that I've learned about guys. If he told you that he just got out of a relationship & he's not ready 4 another one than he did you a favor. He may have gone out with her just to have a good time (sex) with no strings attached. It may be easier for him just to have fun with someone he's not that attracted to therefore he doesn't have to worry about the emotional ties. He may think you're too nice of a girl to use as a rebound or a temporary fling.

Trust me either way, he did you a favor be thankful and maybe when he's ready for something more meaningful he'll look you up.

Let me add something else, don't fall for that he's just not that into you thing, that is only a woman's perspective not a man's. When a man doesn't want an emotional attachment he'll do anything to fight it and if he cares about you he doesn't want to hurt. Remember women are heart and men are brawn. It's never about their emotions it's about what they've set their mind to.

If he has gone out with you 8 times and is still acting like this then you are doing (or not doing) something that is making him hesitate.
Obviously, the other girl interested him in some way for him to say yes.

I don't think he really knows what he wants.

That or he is just in it for sex and felt that if you haven't had sex by date 8 you aren't going to have sex without a serious commitment. So, instead of investing more time to have sex with you (which would eventually hurt your feelings more if he just stuck around to have sex) he is moving on to other prospects.

Also, I think there is a general perception that if a woman asks a man out, that woman is probably more likely to want sex sooner. Whether that is true or not, I don't know.

He's not ready for a serious relationship, and is looking for something more casual. He's most likely getting that from the other girl.
He must like you, if he has taken you out, eight times. So unless you wish to wait til he's ready for a serious commintment, I suggest you move on.
Perhaps in a few months, he may be ready, but for now, it's obvious that he isn't ready.

I'm sorry but he's just not that into you. Go find someone that wants to be with you. I personally think he's a jerk for lying to you and then going out with the other girl.

You've gone out with him 8 times? Wow, it's time to move on. If you've broken up that many times your relationship isn't meant to be.

Maybe he just does not like you... The other girl is not ugly so maybe he thinks she is pretty. It is not always about looks, they help, but that is not the only thing we look for. Maybe your personalities just don't fit.

If you asked him out and he said no, he's not into you. This is a no brainer. Stop wasting your time, and whatever you do, don't chase this dude. You're just damaging your own self esteem if you do that.
