In New York State what is the law for car accidents? Can you move car before police arrive? I didn't think you could, but maybe the law, states you can, for whatever reasons.

Can;t say for sure about NY, but it is a good idea not to move the vehicles until the police report was completed. That way you have something to go by in court. If you move the vehicles, then it is just hear say. So be safe, and keep them there.

If the vehicle is a danger to others, you can move it, actually you have to move it if possible, otherwise, you leave it where it is until the police either say to move it or have it towed.
