Sarsaparilla is what we call it in the Philippines because that's where root beer comes from.

I don't know that Root Beer - as we know it - is something that would translate. -- I only know some words from living here in Texas.

It would come up as a "beer without alcohol" in DIRECT translation:
"Cervesa sin alcohol"
Root Beer is NOT non-alcoholic 'Beer'.

... What we drink is carbonated Sarsaparilla Root.
...I'd be willing to bet that they call it by the Hispanic name for the plant:
"Zarzaparrilla."
