I have been living in MA all year as a student and have no income from RI, only MA income. However, I continue to use my parent's RI address as a permanent address, including on my Federal 1040 form. I have no intention to return to RI after graduation so I do not consider myself domiciled there. Do I still have to fill out a RI state tax return? Thanks in advance for any answers.

If you're holding yourself out as a resident of RI by keeping that as your permanent address, then you probably do have to file there. Change your address to MA - if you're moving around a lot, get a PO box.

You *continuously* document your taxes in the state in which you reside, no longer the state in which you artwork. The RI state tax return could ask if any of your earnings develop into earned in yet another state. If it does, answer "sure" and then persist with however guidelines they provide you. Your enterprise ought to have common which you reside exterior of Massachusetts, and so he don't have withheld any MA state tax from you. i do no longer understand if RI even has a state tax, yet whilst they do, and in the journey that your MA enterprise did no longer withhold RI state tax, that should be a difficulty. examine your W-2's and see how lots develop into withheld out of your paycheck, and for which state. (You *do* comprehend your taxes have been due very almost 2 months in the past, right?)
