File a paper return, the use of your SS# twice will raise a flag with the IRS, they will send both you and the person who used the number stating that someone needs to file an amended return or show proof that you are in fact entitled to use that number, The IRS will compare information with that of the Social Security Administration Name, DOB, SS# . the person using the number incorrectly will then be notified that they need to file an amended return.

Some times it is not a matter of someone using your number illegally. but an error when the number was input on the form when the other person filed. Call the IRS for more information

You are one of thousands....the government will not do a thing about it because you won't get any social security benefit from it they keep the over pays. Yo ucan ask SS to audit your account and give you a new number....but it's a *****
