Ooohhh! Ooohhh! I know! I just this week realised what I want next...
My very favourite place in the entire world is the Natural History Museum in London. I love the stuff that's in it; the dinosaurs, the blue whale, the minerals, and so on, but most of all I love the building. For those who don't know it, it's a ridiculously over-the-top purpose-built Victorian building designed by Alfred Waterhouse, clad in hundreds of terracotta panels cast with amazing designs of animals and plants.
And when I say I love the place, I'm understating things by quite some margin. You know in Breakfast at Tiffanys, how Holly Golightly says Tiffanys is a place where nothing bad could ever happen? Well, the Natural History Museum is my Tiffanys. I go there when I'm feeling upset or unhappy about anything (which is tricky given that I don't live in London). It suddenly occurred to me this week that it would make the basis for the most fantastic tattoo - and then I'd always have it handy in a crisis.
I'm thinking of some of the terracotta elements (particularly the sea-creatures and birds) running down either side of my rib-cage. And the NHM helpfully have an enormous picture gallery, with photos of the building and copies of the original designs, all available online here: http://piclib.nhm.ac.uk/piclib/www/search.php?cat=6&subcat=31&search=subcat_31
Artist-wise, I'm thinking my old boss, Woody in High Wycombe. I never really took proper advantage of how good he is, when I worked there, and I'd like to get a really cool tattoo by him now.
Nice question, by the way!

It IS a beautiful artform, used for personal statements. It also depends on how 'rough' a girl would look, due to the nature of the tattoo. Skulls and crossbones? Yes, tough. I have a pair of elephant heads, trunks entwined, on my left forearm. (I'm a lady) My own son drew the picture. Have gotten many favorable compliments. Have to say that too many tats can create a lot of confusion.

I would get an asian motif circular design in black in the middle of my upper back with some flowers and perhaps water, etc with it. I feel like this is the most sacred part of my body so I've been thinking long and hard about what I want here.
I just discovered this, so i don't count as a regular yet :( I've only answered 8 or so questions. But I LOVE tattoos.....I have three and more to come.

And here I am trying not to think of new ink faster than I can *get* inked...
Curse you, you you you... uh, very nice and generous fellow. Now I'm definitely not going to be able to sleep tonight as a bunch of semi-formed ideas bounce around my head.
It'd still be Teresa though, or at least someone from Staircase (Doug's really good, Aaron's really good, Tim's... etc). I keep seeing cool work in town, ask where the person got it from, and it's always an artist from there. Just found out the woman with the cool sleeves in my gf's bellydance class got her work done by Teresa.

I have been wanting a Spartan on my right leg with the shield as my kneecap. The bad thing is now with 300 getting so popular I wonder how many others are going to be getting spartanish tats.
I am going to cry I don’t have that many tattoo answers. Well not like I can get any new ink in Iraq any way. It is a cool idea though.

A fairey on my left shoulder!!! I aleady have her picked out, will probably cost about $200 - $250
Now if you feel really generous...... I would also like some kind of flowers around the lizard on my left leg, but I'm not sure what would look good and I havent been able to get over to see my artist for him to design anything yet! I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya!

Why thank you Rider! hmmm - would have to take a little while and think about that one. All the regulars here know I'm pretty big on meaningful tattoos but I would have to really think about an accurate tattoo re: what I would want to depict. I think it would probably be something that represents being a Chinese whose family has been in America since the 1800's. Very proud of my lineage and the fact that my family has been in California for so long just because it's not too often that you find American Born Chinese that have been here as long as my family has. Very meaningful to me....hmmm...I'll have to sit and think about this one...
This would be my second tattoo and i would get it done by my orig artist...Dawei.. :)
what to get, what to get....hmmm....
thank you Rider and best of luck in the drawing!!

I'm new but already answered 29 - so does that still count? :)
I just did a 3 hour sitting last Saturday (and I'm in that itching stage....) but I already have ideas of adding to it. I just had a black tree put on my back. We are really into Halloween here - son's and husbands birthday. So at the base of my tree I want a tombstone with "R.I.P." on it and a raven perched on top.
Now wouldn't it be fun if we could all meet? I only have one friend who has a tattoo. While everyone else thinks they are beautiful, it would sometimes be nice to be around more people who love getting tattoos as much as we do.

Cool Rider, I think I fall under the "answered 20 or more questions". I don't have the finished idea but I think some kind of knot to show our bonds have been tied tighter together in a knot. We are all closer. We all know more about each other and I think that is so cool.

Hmm....Easy question! My artist is Mike Andrews of Mike's Tattoo in Peterborough, Ontario (Canada). My next tat is my left sleeve (and I'm going in a month to get started, so you better win!!) It's going to be a full colour science-themed tat, to go with my black and grey spiritual sleeve on my right arm. I'm planning on having some of the underlying muscles tattooed, the scientific tree of life (Since I have the Norse one on the right), a couple of double helixes, that sort of thing. All very brightly coloured. The idea of the contrast between colour/black and grey and themes just really appeals to me. I can't wait to get started!
