President George Bush of the USA. First off he is proud to be a Christian and that is important. Second off he lives by example. Humility, forgiveness, tolerance of others, it's all there. Truly God's ambassador on earth.

It seems that most of the people that have answered your question seem not to understand that you are only 11 years old and that you cannot just walk out the front door and go to church. This is a tough one because if your parents are not good role models then you must look outside your immediate family. For me to say that Jesus to be your role model is too simple, as you need human being that you can observe and talk with. Trust is hard to come by these days, and I caution all girls about talking to people they are not very familiar with and that do not have the approval of their parents. You must talk with your parents about his. they may be more open to you than you think---you will never know until you try. Do not use someone that you do not know personally as a role. model

It sounds like you're worried about dying if you don't have the whole truth in your life. That worries me. Some people say all you have to do is believe and make a commitment to following in Jesus footsteps and you're already saved. Jesus already died for your sins and shouldn't have to come back and die again everytime someone messes up,right?
My husband just said," tell her to pray to Jesus in private that you accept him into your heart. Thank him for dying for your sins. Know that you have eternal life. Begin to pray every day and believe that God hears you and is watching over you."
You might meet a good role model in school or over the internet or maybe a relative. Best wishes.

I think you need to find a place safer then this place to find a mentor- even people who call themselves Christians can be so demeaning sometimes- and I ask you to forgive us for that. I do not know how old you are , but if you are a teen, there are churches probably in your area that have great youth groups with very strong Christian leaders- if you can email I would love to talk with you, maybe I can help you grow in your walk- we are all young once.
Just read that you are 11- It is truly awesome that someone so young thinks that they need someone to mentor them- Someone so young understanding that Christianity is the true way, and the only way- LET THE LITTLE CHILDREN LEAD THEM- as a matter of fact with your comments you are witnessing for our Lord, maybe some us can learn from you. God bless you sweetheart-and I will be praying for you!!

If your just looking for a good role model it shouldn't matter about what religion they choose to follow, it should be based on how they live their life. If your chosen path is Christianity then that's your personal belief, learn now that people believe different things and not to judge. Base your opinion of people on their actions.

There are many good role models in the Bible for you to emulate - the life of Jesus, Paul, for example. But to be practical, what you should be looking for is a mentor, someone older in the Lord who is able to guide and help you grow into Christian maturity. Suggest that you talk to your Pastor and get him to introduce you to an elder sister in the church who will be able to help you in your spiritual walk and growth. The best place to find a Christian role model is in the church, not here and the person to help you is your Pastor.

Your main role model should be the Lord Jesus Christ himself before anyone else. Read the Bible and understand it. Get closer to Jesus by praying and talking to him everyday all day all times. Everywhere you go he'll be next to you, and even maybe holding hands. Just believe it and close your eyes, you'll trully find Him there. Consider him the main love of your life.
Then comes a human model, which depends on where you live actually (country). I have a great model myself, he's a priest in our church, and my Soul Guider.

OK, chill out child, and enjoy being 11. I was 7 when I made a big decision to accept Christ, and I'm still faithful to him now at 61, but I think some churches put a lot too much pressure on young ones, and really when I look back on it now, I can see its brain washing! You will not learn everything about life in a short time, you will learn it slowly as you grow up. I'm still learning... and UN-learning quite a lot!!

A lot ofChurches..specifically Fundamentalchurches like Evangelical Free... Non-denominational churches have "youth" centers or get togethers. I would call some of the more conservative churches like these and find out ifthey have these programs. There you will find other kids in the same position and youwillfind a role model.

Call "Big Brothers" ask them if they can find you a Big Sister. I called them when my son was 8 years old, and they found him a wonderful man who became his role model. My son is now 37 years old, and you could not find a better more wonderful person. E-mail me if you want to. constancemontfort@yahoo.com
Good luck, and God Bless You

The best role model you can have is the Lord Jesus Christ himself! I encourage you to read the gospels which depict his relatively short earthly ministry. He even tells us that we will encounter the same circumstances as he did. The servant is not greater than his/her Lord and Master. Read Luke 6:27-49.
