I have sold an item on ebay, printed and payed for the postage through paypal and packaged the item into the USPS PRIORITY MAIL ENVELOPE. Now instead Of USPS Carrier Pick-up or delivering the package directly to the post office, CAN I JUST PUT THE PRIORITY MAIL ENVELOPE INTO THE USPS MAILBOX OR IS THAT NOT AN OPTION?

According to the USPS rules and regulations if the package weighs more than 1 pound you have to have carrier pick-up or bring it to the post office yourself. If less than 1 pound then yes, drop it in the mailbox.
