It would seem inappropriate to name a child "Jehovah".
(Isaiah 42:8) I am Jehovah. That is my name; and to no one else shall I give my own glory

Basically, what happened was that when Jewish scribes were copying the Old Testament text they would come across the word Yahweh and because it was so sacred they put the vowels of the word Adonai on the word. This way when people were reading the Old Testament they would see the vowels and know not to say the sacred name Yahweh, but instead the name Adonai. However, people would read this word for Yahweh, with the vowel points of Adonai on it, and mistakenly sound out the new word Jehovah.
In Judaism, pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton (the name of God) is a taboo; it is widely considered forbidden to utter it and the pronunciation of the name is generally avoided. Usually, Adonai is used as a substitute in prayers or readings from the Torah.
I would say, generally speaking, you and your child will suffer much unwanted and unnecessary grief if you were to choose this name. I would predict, unfortunately, much prejudice and even perhaps hatred.
In my humble opinion, this name is very inappropriate.

For those who don't know, Jehovah is another name for God and most religions except that, not just Jehovah Witness'. Jesus is a popular name in Mexico which is predominately Catholic and since most people don't think that is inappropriate, I don't think anyone would think any different about this name. Its really up to you.

I think it is completely wrong. I know that people name there child Jesus, but so many people are offended by that. Why not just call your child God? People who don't know what it means will be OK with it but all the others, well it is just my opinion but I would say yes, very inappropriate. Good luck with this and may Jehovah bless you!

Jesus name means Jehovah is Salvation.
Jayden Jehovah hears or listens.
Josiah Jehovah heals.
But out of respect for our Creator Jehovah I would not name my child Jehovah.

When i was expecting my kid i'd joke that every mom-to-be should put their choices through the "Window test", meaning, if u can imagine yourself one day screaming that name out of a window to call your child back home, then it's fine.
Now, let's see: you'd go, "Jehovah!!!" Well, people'd think you are having visions all of a sudden, don't u think??? Please stay real!

Yes it is. There are so many names out there, why choose that one? It's just like calling your baby Jesus! I hate when people do that.
