There is no "correct age" for braces. It depends totally on the patient. Some really need early intervention to guide growth and development to minimize the need for future treatment and sometimes this needs to start at age 5 or 6. Others have good arch shapes, but a few minor rotations here and there that could stand some corrections and this might wait until the patient is in their teens.

Not really, but it just takes longer to succeed. The tissues are slower to respond. Perhaps you could find a sponsor to help you at present, or sooner, as it is likely cheaper if done sooner taking less time. A school for dentistry would also have better prices, as students learn but have qualified dentist or orthodontist to supervise and help them. Good luck! You can no doubt do a lot of your search on line for the closest resources to see all your choices.

It is never too late to get braces. In fact, sometimes it is better to wait. I got mine in back in 4th or 5th grade and my chin grew and threw everthing off. I'm now 52 and had braces put back on to try and straighten things out again.

No it might actually be too young because they want you to be fully grown that way they know youre not going to grow much longer and they can truely tell you how long youll need them on they might take longer to have them off but if you have a good ortho you shouldnt be too worried..besides my 60 year old uncle just had his taken off a month ago..so 14 is not too old..
