Kiwi fruit does grow on trees. Saw this first hand when I was on holiday in New Zealand and touring a Kiwi farm.

Kiwis grow on large rambling vines. They take a long time to grow to a size that produces fruit, up to ten years. There are also male and female vines and here in california you get the best results from hand pollinating.

Confirming that yes, they grow on vines. The vines have to be well supported because the plants are so prolific the fruit will really weigh them down. They like a Mediterranean climate, so here in the U.S. grow quite well in California's central coast.

Yes they grow on trees.
Infact, my neighbors are growing some right now.

The down side is they have to wait ten years before the tree can produce fruit.
