It is your dog so you do what you want!!! I have had nine Dobermans & Eight of them had their ears cropped, tails docked and they were all fine. One male I did have his tail docked , but kept his ears natural only because I wanted one like that. They may have some pain, but they are NOT in extreme pain!! NEVER had one cry out or whine in pain.True, they may whimper a little when you change the first set of bandages, but it isn't as people say or think!!! I love my dogs and never would cause them severe pain or harm to them. Usually the latest to have it done is 4 months. If you do get it done make sure you get a vet with a lot of experience and keep up on the after care!!!!!!!!! Let's see, look at all the people that has cosmetic surgery on themselves, they have some pain but they get over it. Then again some people can't even deal with pain so they wouldn't even considerate it!!! It's all a matter of Choice!!!!!!!

Ears are cropped at 7-12 weeks old for most breeds, including Schnauzers. After that transformations are the ears gained't stand excellent, at a twelve months old there is not any possibilities the ears will stand.

Extremely happy to see so many replies against ear cropping! Same goes for cutting off tails. A doberman with complete ears and tail is a beautiful animal, as are all dogs who remain intact as nature intended.

Unless there is a medical need to crop a dogs ears there seems to be only one other reason to do this and that's you intend to fight the dog which is not only illegal but immoral !

you should love your dog for who he is,not what he looks like! has it ever crossed your mind that maybe your dog aint too keen on the way you look???? still loves you though doesn't he? to get his ears cropped because they're not how you like them is wrong. crop your own ears!!!

most vets will not do it any older that 8 weeks, do to the fact that the older they are the more sensitve the area is for the dog, and can cause ear infections, it is best just not to do it

Ear cropping is illegal in the UK and would only be done if it is a medical necessity for the animal's welfare!
