curling iron is sticky?

I have one of those 3 barrel hot irons for your hair.. And I use hair spray on my hair before I hot iron it. So the iron is got this coating on it, and now when I use it , it's sticks to my hair.. What kind of chemical can I use to get that hair spray off of the hot iron? Maybe like rubbing alchohl?

rubbing alcohol would work...i use dial soap;)
