I just bought a 42 inch LCD Samsung via Amazon.com. According to reviews, Amazon uses a shipping company called Eagle. They bring the TV inside the house and actually turn on and test it before they leave.

Do I tip these guys and if so how much usually? The TV costs $1500 bucks.

You can if you want to, however, it is not a normal tipping situation. The delivery people are paid a salary. They do not depend on tips, like waitstaff in a restaraunt. They have already been paid to make the delivery.

Now, did they do anything above and beyond the call of duty? If so, then you may want to tip them. However, from what you described, they did not do anything special. Sounds like they made the delivery and made sure that it was working before they left. That was to help you and to also ensure that the TV was operational when they left.

no. there are to many people to tip. other people made the tv. other people tested it. and someone else owns the company. the tv shipper just drives a truck. he gets paid by his boss.

No, you paid for the shipping so no tip is needed. They get a pay check either way.

i probably would. i mean how would you feel hauling a big heavy package and setting it up and driving all the way back to work to deliver again and the weather may be very hot or very cold so i would feel pleased to know that somebody felt for me and thanked me for my work so he gave me a little extra something other then my usual paycheck. :-)
