The Bible is a tome of Allegorical Symbolism, wrapped up with the narratives of a History we will never know.
The historical narratives within it are the "outer garments" of the true spiritual revelation within it. Thus the statement, "The narratives of the doctrine are its cloak. The simple look only on the garment, that is upon the narratives of the doctrine; more they know not. The instructed, however, see not merely the cloak, but what the cloak covers."
And, as another wise man, by the name of Moses Maimonedes, once said, "Every time that you find in our books a tale the reality of which seems impossible, a story which is repugnant to both reason and common sense, then be sure that the tale contains a profound allegory veiling a deeply mysterious truth; and the greater the absurdity of the letter, the deeper the wisdom of the spirit."

Nothing is perfect -except God. Science is certainly not perfect. If it was it would not have to be modified every time some scientist learns something new. The idea of science is good. Unfortunately, man interprets the data. Whats worse-the man that interprets also has pre-conceived ideas about what he believes to be true "outside" the evidence. What a man believes is based on his world view, not his education. No scientist today knows how old the earth is or how long ago the dinosaurs died out. Some scientist speculate about it-but none know. Science does not in any way tell us that the earth is billions of years old. Some scientist -not all, interpret the data that way-because they believe it before they examine. This is true throughout all fields of science. The Bible in its original manuscripts are not flawed. Yes, the translations we have today are copies and subject to interpretation. But, there is no excuse for us all not coming to the same conclusion with it. There may be about 1/2 of 1% of the total text in the Bible in dispute-true. But No Jewish or Christian doctrine, or any other intent of the Bible is in question. According to the genealogies in the Bible and the secular history we have available today, most Bible students would place the age of the earth at about 6230 years. Dinosaurs would have been created then.

The Bible also says that the world was created to look old. And there is actually a scripture about dinosaurs in Isaiah in the 40's (I don't have my Bible on hand). Evolution is a theory, not a lawof science, and has not been proven. If it was so true, it would have been proven by now. The whole point of having faith is believing what can't be seen. And there are more things every day that are falling into line with what the Bible says about the creation. We are not to know how or why, just have faith that He created the Earth and placed us here because he loves us.

Dear Faith 98,
You asked some good questions! You must remember that Science is not perfect. The Scientists want you to think that they have all the right answers but they do not. Scientific dating (radioactive dating) is only good to approximately 5200 years. If evolution is true (it is not), then why don't we see active evolution today? Where are the transitional forms, ie., half-reptile/bird. half fish/reptile? ... Science tells us that the dinosaurs died out before man walked on the earth. But if that is true, why do we find men's footprints within dinosaur footprints (Paluxy River, Texas)?
In answer to your last statement, the Bible in the original languages of Hebrew and Greek is Perfect. I cannot convince you of this--only God can. However, the english version(s) of today do have errors in them. The translators could not translate some of the Greek terms inot their english equivalents. Greek is a very specific language and some Greek terms cannot be translated.
The King James Bible is the best english version Bible. There are a few errors in the translation. However, a Hebrew/Greek Concordance is a tool that will allow you to look at the Greek or Hebrew word in question to check the accuracy of the translators.

It is my belief that the days of creation are not literal days but 'age days' and that evolution may have played a part in God's creation. I also believe that the 'Big Bang' theory may be described in Genesis 1:3 when God spoke the universe into existence .....
"And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."
I do not believe that these views necessarily undermine the integrity of the Bible. If however I found that these views were to oppose God's word, I would choose to err on the side of the Bible being God breathed and inerrant.
I make this choice in faith that God intends that we should understand His word just as it is written and not in any other way. God is more than capable of ensuring the accuracy of His word and safeguarding it's integrity. We should not doubt it.
If all you really have is faith, then the good news is that provided you place it in Jesus Christ, it is all you need.

I will try my best at reconciling ideas here. Let us assume (for the sake of argument) that evolutionary theories are true.
Genesis would be something like in the beggining, when the universe was expanding as a result of the Big Bang, when the sun was born and planets were formed, there was chaos and a primordial soup where chemical elements started joining until they formed a carbon chain, and perhaps by an electrical discharge from an electrical storm or perhaps by heat from one of the many volcanoes appearing on the young earth's crust carbon chains became activated and life appeared. Life which then evolved into unicellular organisms, multicellular organisms, protozooarians and all that, then trilobites and prehistoric crustaceans and fish, then dinosaurs (until a meteorite crashed), then early mammals, then early hominds (neanderthals and all that) and finally the Homo Sapiens.
Still, for all that stuff to happen (which the Biblical Genesis would be a nice allegory), someone had to create the concentrated point of matter from which Bing Bang and all the subsequent events originated (Think of it as a giant Rube Goldberg artifact). Wouldn't that be God?. If there was nothing before, nothing could have come out of it. Creation did happen somewhere along the line, perhaps not exactly in the way in which is depicted in the Bible, but it did happen. And the perfect work of engineering that is the Universe and our bodies might just prove that evolution could be a part of that intelligent design.

If you are a Christian, you believe that the Bible is the word of God, written by men who were inspired by God. Evolution goes against the teachings of the Bible, because the Bible says that mankind was created in God's image. It also says that God created all the animals, so since we have bones and scientific evidence to prove that dinosaurs existed, I think it's safe to assume that God also created dinosaurs. Hope that answers some of your questions.

You are having the same age old problem that many believers have....trying to decide who to trust...God or man.
Using mans science to determine if God is real or not is like using the mumblings of a toddler to decipher Einsteins theory of relativity.
The theory of evolution is not merely a theory that says man and animals are related...That is only the surface of it. What it is truly saying is that God had no part in the creation of mankind. You can not believe both.
However, it is possible to believe that mankind and animals could be related in the physical sense of the components that are used by God. For example, it has been newly discovered by some scientist that DNA taken from the bone of a dinosaur has similiar properties (therefore is related to) a modern day bird (chicken) This really is not surprising to me and I am a very strong Christian. In my opinion based on logic, God would have used the same building blocks to make all his creations. If it works for one...why would he not use the same properties or (DNA sequencing in this case) in the creation of the next thing? Every living thing on this planet, whether it be plant or animal has a DNA sequence. Why would that be surprising?
I would suggest that although science may be correct in some things, it is their interpretation or assumptions that are incorrect. In otherwords, a physical connection between species does not mean that God did not create them. It simply means that he did not re-invent the wheel every time he wanted to change a tire.

To have science, you need a scientist... Scientist(s) are humans, are they not? The entire world will not go to heaven. Everyone is entitled to believe that man was created from a monkey and that we "evolved" into what we are today. On a personal level, I believe that man was created by God, because the scriptures tell me so.
To have faith, is to have faith in God, and His Word. Yes, the Bible was created by God-fearing men. Yes, if you read the Authorized King James Version of the Bible (more commonly known to as the 'Holy Bible'), you will have a type of translation that has alot of language that is tuff to understand. But if you truly have faith, it will see you through. (See song, "Living By Faith". Here are the words: http://library.timelesstruths.org/music/Living_by_Faith/ )
As for all the other questions that you asked, truly Live by Faith, and one day, you will see Heaven, and maybe, you'll get those questions answered by God, Himself.

I believe that the Bible is true. But you do not actually have to believe everything in the Bible, or your salvation would be about you. You get saved only by the mercy and grace of God. Believe John 3:16
It is a mistake to believe that the partial record is false. If God can make a man from dust and a woman from his rib,He can certainly make people to live peacefully with dinosaurs. God can make things aged, so the debate about the age of earth is pointless.
The Bible never claims to be perfect. And everything recorded in the Bible is not acceptable behavior by God.However, we have a lot of evidence that the Bible is very accurate, trustworthy and reliable.

The introduction to Genesis and to the whole Bible ascribes everything to the living God, creating, making, acting, moving, and speaking. There is no room for evolution without a flat denial of Divine revelation. One must be true the other false. All of God’s works are good, great, wondrous, and perfect.
Man starts from nothing. He begins in helplessness, ignorance, and inexperience. All his works, therefore, proceed on the principle of evolution. This principle is only seen in human affairs: from the hut to the palace; from the canoe to the ocean liner; from the spade to the plowshare to machines. But the birds build their nests today as at the beginning. There is growth and development within man, but no passing, change, or evolution out from one into another.
For this theory or fallacy of evolution to be true there would be evident stages of evolution today. You would be able to find species in many stages of evolution in nature right now. For this theory or fallacy of evolution to be true there would be no God. And that’s exactly what evolutionists believe and are trying prove. The evolutionist bases his or her conclusions on human assumptions and reasoning, instead of on the documentary evidence of the manuscripts.
Dinosaurs where in the first earth age before Satan's Rebellion. In that first earth age there was not flesh man but all were just spiritual beings.
The answer is in the first couple verses of Genesis.
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Period, end of sentence. It does now say how long ago.
Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
In the Hebrew this reads, And the earth became waste, and empty, and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
God destroyed the first earth age due to Satan's rebellion.
