Since Jesus is the son of God and died for all our sins, why have you made the conscious decision not to accept this, even though you would end up in hell?

Um, I don't even know why I'm answering this incredibly rude question, I guess I am just nice. So here goes:

First, we're either Jews or Jewish people. We're not an adjective. Sorry.

Secondly. YOU BELIEVE J*sus is a son of a god. We don't. We only believe in one G-d. J*sus only believed in one G-d. Human sacrifice is abhorred by G-d, didn't J*sus tell you that? And one of the central themes of Judaism is that only YOU are responsible for your sins. Nobody else can take responsibility for them. We have made a concious decision not to accept this because we like our souls and G-d likes it when we refuse to commit idolatry.

Oh, and Hell is a concept made up by the Catholic church/Paul. It has no basis in Judaism. There is no hell.

Thanks but really, NO thanks dude.

Firstly, the concept that Jesus is the son of God and died for all of our sins is a matter of faith, not fact.

Secondly, Jesus was Jewish. The concept of Christianity as a religion did not exist until after his death/ascension. The Hebrews were around for several thousand years before Jesus came about and are, even in the Christian bible, God's chosen people.

And lastly, you call one who practices the Jewish faith a "Jew" not a "Jewish".

Perhaps you should pull your head out of whatever fundamentalist hole you have it stuck in and learn a bit more about the origins of your religion.

It isn't only Jews who don't accept this. It is a BELIEF, not a fact. A person cannot choose to believe something. You either believe it or you don't. And, of course, people who don't believe that Jesus is the "son of god" don't think they're going to hell because of that.

They will not go to hell for not believing in Jesus,
John 3:14, Verses 14 and 15 go together, Note eternal life.
Him in Verses 14 and 15 refers to Moses Read Matthew 23

Verse 16 stands by itself, Note everlasting life.
and refers to Jesus

Verses 17 and 18 go together
Him refers to all other teachers, he that believeth not (in God the Father, who art in heaven)

Because the Jewish faith doesn't believe he was the direct son of God and the spiritual messiah, and was in fact just one of the great men of our time. Theres quite a bit of argumentation that the rewritings of the Bible, in particular parts of the Apocrypha and other things not deemed canon in Judeo-Christian theolog, argue more for elements of Christs' humanity than his divinity. Thus, while his words were true and his acts just, he was not the Messiah of lore.

It is a matter of faith and opinion; It is QUITE open to dispute, and respectful dispute and debate is and should be encouraged.

However, the element of Christian faith does not decree that not beliving Christ is the Son of God leads to eternal damnation; Only that one must embrace the Christlike qualities, something that all do. To become OF Christ, to be akin to his teachings.

And those very teachings in turn REJECT idolization of Christ, and instead force for a deep connection with God. The ability to unite with the divine, and to do so in the living world.

It stems from faith, and good acts. Would the Christian God smite a man who had done goodly acts all his life, and lived his life well and just for all, and sentence him to eternal damnation just because he had a historical and theological mote of doubt towards the true divinity of one man?

How does that line of thinking itself align with the teaching of Christ, the words he spoke about the Father of All?

In the Christian faith, Hell is for those who cannot be united with God at ALL, ever; not for engaging in honest theological debate or those who have doubt.

But don't take my word for it. I would strongly urge you to discuss these ideas and questions of yours with your local religious leader.

You don't need to be Jewish to answer that. Intelligent people would recognise that the expression "son of God" is an opinion not a fact.

Why can't you just leave us alone? I keep asking that and I get no direct response to that question. I think you can't leave us alone because you feel threatened by us because we do not accept Christ as the son of God and you wonder, deep down inside, whether we might be right.

Simple and straight-forward...jesus didn't fulfill all the messianic prophecies and is thus, not the messiah. I believe they'd rather go to hell than believe in jesus.

Don't you mean "a Jew"? "Jewish" is an adjective, not a noun...

And why can't we be a little more respectful?

EDIT: To clarify JP's statement:

Yshua bar-Ysef (or Yeshua bar-Yosef) means "Jesus, son of Joseph". Because they view Jesus as the Son of Joseph, it contradicted the prophecy of the Messiah (HaMosiach).
