Because they think it is what you expect from them! Women were not put on this earth just to be your eye candy. Yeah some will say women choose to wear that stuff to because they want to look good. But honestly it takes a lot of effort to keep all that up. Do you really think so many would dress up if they really had a choice? I'm sure they would love to get away with doing less. And if you marry someone because of how they look and then they change after you marry, did it ever occur to you they were only trying to keep your from getting away? Stop being so damn superfacial. It's one thing to want to feel good about yourself, but its another to expect a person to be constantly pleasing you.

Women are always taking ownership, why don't you men ever do that? Like if a woman is raped, she asked for it. The girl's slutty clothing is reason enough. The guy shouldn't have to be able to control himself. I know this has nothing to do with my above question, but its a good example of how men never taken ownership. And I do wear whatever I want.

I don't mean to seem like I'm yelling. I asked a different question before and it god me kind hyped up. Sorry if I offended anybody and I don't think all men are like that.

You're right.
As a reformed male chauvinist pig (I have 2 daughters), I am more sensitive to these issues. I hope my daughters choose to look good, but there are other ways than spending 2 hours preparing for a simple trip to the supermarket because you feel the pressure to look good. Mainly, be healthy and athletic and you will look good. Faking it doesn't get anybody anywhere.

I agree with you. No one deserves to be raped. No matter who you are, what you're wearing, or what you come from. This whole excuse is just BS. People should take care of themselves and don't trust anyone. Don't walk at night alone. If you're have been raped. Speak out, talk to someone or a love one. Get some counseling and get well. Time heals

I see you answered your own question.
Some data to chew on:
In reliable studies, men who were shown pictures of women tended to rank their looks more highly when they had no make-up.
Women who dress in skimpy clothing often learned to do so from parents or other role models, and think there's nothing wrong with it. (and frankly, in really hot weather, there's not; the best attitudes toward women and sexuality I've ever met were in a nudist camp).
Women who dress up like that, when analyzed, seem to be doing it primarily because it makes them feel good, not because they think anyone else would care.
But those are generalizations, always there are exceptions, such as your descriptions.

Sure, put all the blame on men for your own insecurities. You're just furthering the male pig stereotype that women can't think for themselves. Start taking some ownership in your life and dress how you wanna dress because you wanna dress that way and stop blaming men.
Go watch Oprah or something.

I have to say that as a woman I disagree with what you said. No sensible woman is going to go out looking like she just got out of the strip club just to get the men to notice. And then complain that men are looking at her, any woman that dresses in that way is asking for it. There are plenty of outfits that a woman can wear to compliment her body without revealing everything that God blessed her with. Of course men are going to notice, a woman's body is a beautiful thing to a man's eyes. Not all men are dogs, and to say that they are is unfair to them, don't taunt the men with your barely there ways and maybe they will treat you with the respect you deserve.

It's the beauty of competition, sweetmeat, and it goes both ways. As for wives letting themselves go after marriage, well, that explains the high cheating and divorce rate in this world. Women want men to be romantic and loving and sweet and charming etc.... you thank THAT doesn't take effort????

Yes I thinks its the womans fault for competing against each other. Men probably wouldn't care they would get used to way women looked no matter how ridiculous they look

no - it is not what is expected of them. i know tons of guys who don't go after the skimpy outfits and make up (i don't even like skimpy outfit and definitely hell to lipstick).
i will tell you about one profound understanding i had in my life about women.
there are two kinds of woman - one who walk around in a two piece suit when they are on the beach. other who go to the beach only so that they can walk around in a two piece suit.
and a profound understanding i had about men also.
there are two kinds of men - one who check out the chicks in swimsuit while they are at the beach. other who go to the beach only so that they can check out chicks in the swimsuit.
and please for god's sake don't tell me the world is full of the second kind women who claim they are the first kind and second kind men who claim they are the first kind.
man, when i hear something like this, i wonder why i want to be a faminist (and I am).

You claim women dress this way because men expect it. It is men's fault that women do this, therefore women have no self control, women have no free will, women have no intelligence.
You don't like women do you? Stop blaming other people for your actions.

r u sure u want us to stop looking pretty for our benifit , or is it for urs. I think that u want to just look better than everyone else, so ur putting us down. My opinion is that every single one of us, looks good in order to impress someone. Whether its a crush, or our best friends. We all want to be known for our good looks. Yeah its a lot of pressure sometimes, but its also a lot of fun. Getting ready in the morning, and showing everybody ur new skimpy skirt, is wut makes life so much fun.
