Most states but not all accept a federal extension as extending the state deadline also, but check your state website to be sure. If the state has a form, it should be available there, so if you aren't sure, it can't hurt to file it also.

State extensions vary from state to state. Some accept the Federal extensions while others require a separate state extension to be filed.

Remember that an extension is only an extension to file, not pay the tax. All Federal and state tax is DUE at the original due date, regardless of the extension date.

Check your state department of revenue (taxation) for the extension forms for your state. If a extension payment is due, a voucher should also be available from the website.

NO federal tax forms extend to the state level. Need a seperate filing.
