This goes right along with Christain Rock n Roll. If the word is taught and people are receiving it then it has served its purpose. Too many times Christains are quick too judge and slander that that is being done in God's favor. We never know the ministry of other's as only God can reveal it to them. Sometimes we need to leave well enough alone and have some liberty in Christ as Paul mentioned in Galations 1. If however, you are bothered by this activity it is always best to ask the people that are performing or someone highter up. If that still makes you uncomfortable, by all means seek another church..

Back to the medieval age of magic and myths. The beauty in the works of God is it caters to all kinds of interests. It can even be interpreted from esoteric to exoteric and it greatly inform of you reality in life once you begin to understand every learning you get. Have an open mind. Do not let yourself emerge into the illusions. There is always temptation everywhere you go. Not all that sounds good is right and things that may be sweet to your taste sometime lead one to death. Be discerning. If your heart does not agree, maybe you are right to say its not okay.

If you are weary, it is the Holy spirit in you telling you that the church you are attending is Wrong.

Deuteronomy tells us that it is wrong to consort mediums or divination or any form of spiritism.
It sounds like yet another church that is trying to use new age to hold the masses. Church need not be boring, and there really is prohesying and speaking in tounges when the Holy spirit is present... but even the bible says that " Icabod" will be written above the doors of our churches....
I'd seek out another church, one that holds close to biblical pricipals and morals.
That is hard to find in times like these, but my friend listen to the Holy spirit. Pray about it and go where you are led.
You can move mountains when the Holy spirit in you is allowed free reign! ( something these churches today do not allow.)

It's a very childish way to present God. Entertaining... very well may be... But as long as the message is there... and It reaches you personally... Then it's all good... But if you are leary... try elsewhere... God is everywhere.... It's about what style of message you want to hear... If you like clowns... then you're in a perfect spot.

Magic and illusion are two different things. Illusion means to appear to do something when you actually don't. In otherwords it is a trick just to get someone to believe in something.

Magic is sometimes thought of in the same way but its true meaning is to actually do something by means of an outside influence...Satan, God, a witch etc.

I would say that who they claim in giving them the power to do "magic" would be the indicator of whether it is a Godly belief system or an evil one.

Are they trying to fool you into believing something that isn't true? Or are they using "magic" tricks as an entertaining way of presenting the gospel? There have always been Christian comedians and clowns and jugglers and acrobats. Why not a Christian magician?

God does not need magic or gimmicks. The word of God taught pure and holy is more than enough to hold the attention of anyone young or old.

Rather Go to a Roman Catholic church. Rest of the other churches are just a way to earn money. It becomes the pastor's primary or secondary wage earning place. A work place rather worship place. They do magic to bring people in the church. Ask yourself, you you want it?

You probably have to tell us more about wha they're doing. If it's something to get the kids' attention, it's likely no big deal. But if they're teaching that magic and illusion are the way, then I'd investigate other choices.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world (1Jo 4 : 1)
