I respect them. They have lived alot of life and have alot more knowledge than me. I'm always interested in what they have to say. Especially veterans, they have some of the most amazing stories about being in the service. If it wasn't for some of them we wouldn't have all of the freedoms we have today in the U.S.

I respect them.
I volunteered at a nursing home once and the experience was great. I loved listening to the stories of their lives.

My Oma (German word for grandmother) is the most precious to me in my family with my Mom coming in second.
My Oma grew up after WW1 in Germany and she has so much history to tell.
I can only hope that I too will become a wise elder.

"The Little Girl and the Wrinkles"

A little girl is sitting on her grandpa's lap and studying the wrinkles on his old face. She gets up the nerve to rub her fingers over the wrinkles. Then she touches her own face and looks more puzzled.

Finally the little girl asks, "Grandpa, did God make you?"

"He sure did honey, a long time ago," replies her grandpa.

"Well, did God make me?" asks the little girl.

"Yes, He did, and that wasn't too long ago," answers her grandpa.

"Boy," says the little girl, "He's sure doing a lot better job these days isn't He?"

Really, I love the old ppl at church. They are so nice, loving, and caring. I find myself selfishly going to be coddled and coo'ed over ... they really know how to spoil a good girl. Plus they have such great music and traditions. And the wisdom is richer than the carrot cake icing they create.

They should be respected. They have a lot of wisdom to share if someone would give them the chance to talk about it.
