i really don't know but i had the perfect dog to portray him for movies,he was lab and greyhound,all white just like the drawings of krypto,with a pointed mussle and ears that layed down. there is a way u could find out,type in to ur search. first appearance of krypto Superman's dog.been there seems to me they explaned it.

The writers actually didnt pick a perticular breed when they created krypto.

He is a un - realistic Lab because Labs dont come in Pure white!

In the original comic book he was a Jack Russell Terrier. In that new cartoon, I don't know, probably a lab.

He was born on Krypton. But I think he is a great dane beagle mix that is all white. So I will call it a white beagadane
