Shouldn't we really think about outlawing it, or at least trying to prevent more people becoming infected?

With the amount of knowledge in today's society, the only ones who are infected are the ones who want to stay that way.

I'll start with saying your lack of positive vision is alarming. But perhaps that is todays sad world.

Religion's intention is positive interpretation of your life and the lives around you. Told stories that lend guidance through life.
Usually people want to outlaw certain religions that are too different but you want the whole bunch of em' thrown out!! That is sad.

Also, this is supposed to be a free country, where people can make up their own minds and practice what they wish peacefully and without intrusion.

We should not be outlawing peoples right to explore whatever mind set they want to, whether we think its right or wrong.

My view of religion is that they are all the same bunch of core values passed through different stories and names told by varying tongues.

We should promote the fact that we believe in something positive rather the actual religion. More importantly, we should learn to celebrate together.
We both appreciate being alive and enjoy this amazing planet.
We both are sensing purpose and movement forward and We should be glad for that. Not dividing ourselves over names and details. Thats the problem.
.
Why is it people are nicer while they are boating?
Did you ever notice that everyone waves to one another when on boats??
Weird huh? That is the premise behind my point. Why arent people always like that? The earth isnt a good enough reason?

Appreciation + Cooperation is the only thing that can save mankind.
"Mankind as a whole" should be studying "get on the boat" philosophy.

The use of the word "infected" in your question is testament to the sad state of our world. Everyone matters because we form our opinions from the people around us, from their attitudes and energy. You most likely have someone; a mate or a brother or nephew you influence with that negative "everything sucks" outlook.
You should look to simply appreciate the things around you and be optimistic.

How do you propose to outlaw religion when it controls our government?

The outlaws are in the cat-bird seat.

All we can do is snipe at the edges and hope some people recover from their delusions and see religion for the mind control that it is.

Naw...without their lies and delusions, these clowns would be even worse than they are now. Religions are about control. If someone way back when saw the need to concoct a religion to control people out of control. That it serves a use full purpose in my book. Think about it, the type of people prone to believing in silly god delusions must have been really rotten pathetic people before religion cam about. Much more pathetic and evil than they are now.

It's true that you need to start out with some measure of faith to believe in something like that, but really, it's not as delusional as you think. You see the world one way, and people of different religions see it from a completely different perspective from the beginning. Having faith in the supernatural doesn't go against logic, it goes against what you can observe, which doesn't mean it isn't true. Just because science doesn't understand gravity doesn't mean there isn't an explanation we have not yet observed, and just because some people believe in things you don't doesn't make them delusional. Some are, some aren't.

Who said it is getting infected...? What laws are there which u need to outlaw!!

Seems you are not taught religion well, i am not asking about what religion u r born in.. but as far as i know the basic messages from each religion are good to humanity.

Because of some petty followers who mis interprete the religion, no religion looses its value.

That is an interesting though..... Since Santa Clause and other holiday idols are comforting lies and shared dilusions, should'nt they be outlawed? hmmm I'm guessing no. So no religions shouldnt be outlawed, just the extremists who chose to kill and persecute for those religions.

i'd go for the latter, it didn't work so well when countries tried to outlaw it (just like it we outlaw marijuana here). The key is definitely to prevent infection. Good luck!

What are you afraid of? You are free to enjoy whatever delusion that you wish to pursue...why the need to outlaw anything....this type of "infection" is willfull...you have the antidote of unbelief(don't worry)

Boweevils and Bollworms. Evil incarnate. some thing might desire to be accomplished, Kagos. some thing might desire to be accomplished. I also have a good looking enclosure for worried Donkeys. regrettably, it has an evil pony in it ideal now. he's going homestead Monday even with the undeniable fact that.
