if you have a stronger antihistamine, take it. If not, take additional Benadryl, you can safely take 50 to 75 milligrams every six hours as long as you are not going to be driving.
apply an ice pack to the lip for 15 minutes every hour.

I actually disagree with the Boars Head ham comment. Anyway, if thats the only symptom you have, then we can rule out an allergic reaction. And Benadryl wont help cuz its for itching. I think you just have to wait for it to run its course and in the meantime, lots would die to have that Angelina Jolene look. Start drinking lots of water and if youre experiencing any discomfort, take a tylenol or 2 and just apply ice for as long as you can tolerate it. It really needs to leave your system and plenty of fluids will help you along. Good luck

You can try ice. If you go to the ER they will give you something stronger than benadryl plus some steroids. I have had allergic reactions (hives and swelling) that have lasted up to a week. Thanks for the warning about the tainted ham and good luck.

Well, if you have a sensitivity to MSG, and Benadryl isn't helpful, you just have to wait for your system to clear it out this time. In future, you should talk to your doctor about a prescription that might work better for you.

Get your butt to an ER. Food allergies are potentially fatal. The swelling could progess to your trachea and cause difficulty breathing.

You need to be tested by an allergist to determine what you are allergic to.

MSG is primarily used (when it's used) as a preservative for vegetables and fruits. It's sometimes used in Asian foods.

I agree with the others. Hit the hospital. I myself can not go near MSG at all. Sometimes I end of eating it by accident and I wish I were dead. I get this headache you can't imagine. I now ask everywhere I go if they use it in the food. Better safe than sorry.

An IV.

Or drink plenty of water to flush it out.
