my little girl is five years old in a few days and has suffered with itchy feet in the last couple of weeks. It also happened last year when the weather warmed up. its driving me mad not to mention my little one who often is crying and constantly itching her feet. i have tried various creams, washed her feet, washed her shoes, put clean socks on, and i have resorted to bare feet at home as i dont think creams and clean socks are helping her. Does anyone know what could be causing it and how to get rid of it

It's probably athlete's foot or another fungal infection. You can get a spray from the chemist called mycota, it should clear it up very quickly. If it doesn't, see your doctor.

It sounds like a fungal infection of some kind although there could be an allercic reaction as well. Have you changed to any other product that comes in contact with her feet? Keeping her barefoot is a good start, since any fingus or bacteria needs a dark, warm, moist place to live, shoes are like incubators. Try having her go barefoot full time for a while so what ever is infecting her has a chance to dry up and go away. I also recomend seeing a physician in order to diagnose what it is she actually has.

One time I had a rash that burned all over my body and itched so bad that I wanted to die (literally). Th dr.'s and pharmacist had no ideas on what to take. I went and bought a container of oatmeal (the tall container, not instant) I made a paste with it and smeared it over my entire body and that was the only relief I felt. I would say 2 things you haven't tried. One is the oatmeal mixed with warm water to form a thick paste and soak her feet in it. The other would be to aim a box fan at her feet after each shower. Sounds crazy but it works sometimes.

letting her sit in a bath with Aveeno will help with the itch. It is probably due to the change in climate, and her feet are sweating a great deal more. If she has to go out, put some baking soda in her shoes to absorb sweat.

An allergy to washing soap or detergent or something she's eating, or maybe pesticides if she walks in the grass without shoes. A foot soak in Epsom salts will soothe her skin. take her to the GP to have it cheked out, she may be stressed about something and it could be manifesting itself in a skin problem.

I'd go with a fungal infection. You should call her pediatrician.
