on 60 minutes the different day they replayed an interview from ten years in the past. The interviewer claimed that imus instructed imus' producer (at the same time as contained in the vehicle) some thing with regards to n igger jokes. notwithstanding Imus denied that he suggested the N note. Then the interviewer ask the producer. the producer spoke back with, "definite i'm very positive you suggested the N note." Then imus spoke back with "properly i must have suggested the N note, yet that replaced into an off the record verbal substitute" Racism is an argument of the middle. you could also ask for forgiveness all you want, notwithstanding it would not substitute the truth he's a racist. clone of Cheater can ask for forgiveness, yet in the adventure that they cheater on says sorry because they were stuck, properly, i ought to a touch worried.

Rutgers isn't the only one he offended - lots of other people had good cause to be offended and that apology wasn't directed at them.
He dragged Rutgers' name through the mud by doing what he did and his apology won't have changed that. He deserved to be asked for gross misconduct.

He shouldn't have been fired. Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson were looking for free publicity. They called Imus a racist. What he said was not said to be racist. They called for him to fired for this one mistake. However, they do not look at themselves as racist. Yes African Americans can also be racist. What else would you call it when they condemn a White Man for saying the same thing that Black Rappers and Black Talk Show Hosts say? Also there is the Right to Free Speach. This is right that we as Americans are afforded by the Constitution. No One has the Right to pick and choose who this right pertains to. Equality is not what Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson are looking for,. If we had Equality they wouldn't have a job. They thrive on diversity and racism.

Don's remark has caused sponsors to pull out. When your lack of class makes your company LOSE money, it's time to get the can. He still has freedom of speech like everyone else, but when you're doing it on company time, there IS a line that shouldn't be crossed. The issue is strictly a monetary one. He's losing them money. He's gotta go.

When it comes down to it, it's all about money. You see, many viewers and sponsors would boycott CBS if they decided to keep Imus. If they decided to fire him, then the blame would all be put on Imus, and CBS still keeps their audience. I'm sure CBS would keep him if they felt they wouldn't lose anything as a result.

It was the sponsors who were not supporting his comments, not MSNBC. If it were MSNBC, they would have fired him immediately, regardless if the sponsors pulled out or not.

But MSNBC didn't fire him immediately. They only suspended him.

The firing didn't occur until after the sponsors pulled out.
